Available kittens

We do not have any kittens at this time. We have closed our waiting list to new families until Summer, 2022.

Our decision to close our waiting list for this period of time was due to a new HCM gene that was discovered early this year. On January 21, 2021 we received results from NCSU for the HCM genetic testing on our breeding cats.

Our Stud male, Jethro came back negative for the mutation (does not carry any copies of the mutation). Not so great news was that both of our females came back positive-homozygous. This means that they carry 2 copies of the mutated gene and may have a higher likelihood of showing signs of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. While they are currently both scanning negative for HCM and have never shown any signs of the disease (Bijou and Valencia are both 5), it is recommended that positive homozygous cats be taken out of the breeding population because the mutation can be passed down to their kittens. Both Valencia and Bijou have been taken out of our breeding lines and we have acquired two new breeding cats, who are both under the age of 1.

We are blessed to have two breeding female kittens from an HCM scanning cattery that carry no genetic diseases and are negative (or carry only 1 copy) for the HCM gene that has just been identified. The health of our cats and the kittens we produce is the most important part of our breeding program.

Thank you for your continued understanding as we essentially start our breeding program over from scratch.

Freya was born with a congenital mitral valve heart defect. We lost her to congestive heart failure in 2018.
